Howrah based physician and Nutritionist Dr Sukanta Mukherjee has recently published his seminal work on the old History of Howrah. The book titled Purono Howrahr Katha was published by National Book Agency in December 2011.
The book ‘Purono Howrar Katha’ contains twelve chapters. In the first chapter the author discussed on the historical aspect including the Mughal period and published the copy of the deed of Lord Clive to prove that Clive was once the Zeminder of some parts of this town.......

it’s a boon to the development of the entire Shibpur area. But it’s a fact that the development couldn’t reach to its optimum level as the main arterial link between the North- South part has not yet been implemented. The Central Howrah Expressway or the highway from Mandirtala to Benaras Road is still under the red tape of the Government files.
